Proverbs 8: The Pursuit

The pursuit of wisdom can seem a counter-intuitive quest.

For when we try our hardest to find it, it can seem hardest to locate. Yet, once we arrive at our exhaustion point it might suddenly appear. Why the contradiction?  Why does a direct correlation between effort and enlightenment fail to manifest?

Perhaps the issue lies with our pursuit of wisdom . Perhaps we were searching for validation vice truth. Affirmation that our thoughts and actions are or were correct vice truly seeking understanding.

I love those who love me;
those who look for me find me.
— Proverbs 8:10

Solomon, speaking as the manifestation of wisdom above, makes it clear that wisdom is available to us if we search for it.  The actualization of said wisdom is then achieved not with greater effort, but an alternative mindset.

We must let loose our preconceived notions and humbly come to a place where we are ready to receive truth.  For wisdom is the most valuable gift we can receive, and we are the greatest impediment to application.
